The terrible 9.0 earthquake, followed by the 30ft tsunami, struck Eastern Japan 2:46 pm on March 11 2011. 550,000 people are being evacuated. 20,000 people are still missing. Thousands of houses were lost. More than ten thousands are said to be killed. Given the rather chilly weather of the damaged area, food, medicine, blankets and shelters are crucial needs for the victims.
